Processing time and fees

Your application for a certificate or a copy of an act can be processed in normal or accelerated time. The cost, turnaround and method of delivery vary according to the method of application and processing time you choose.

***The number of days does not include the delivery time. Delivery for normal processing is by regular mail. Delivery in Canada for accelarated processing is by Xpresspost. Delivery outside Canada for accelerated processing is by regular mail.

Important

Be sure to complete the 2010-2012 version of the application form for a certificate or a copy of an act in order to avoid any delay in processing your application. The version of the form is indicated in the upper right-hand corner, next to the title of the form. Note that you can, at any time, download the latest versions of our forms from our website or apply online through the DEClic! online services.


Additional processing time

Additional processing time may be required in the following cases:

  • The application is incomplete (it is not signed, payment is not included, not all fields of the form are filled out, etc.).
  • The information on the form differs from the information in the register.
  • The event occurred recently and is not yet entered in the register.
  • It is difficult to verify vertain information concerning the identity of an applicant or a guarantor.
  • The address for delivery of the documents indicated on the form differs from the address on the photocopies of documents.
  • The photocopies of documents do not meet the requirements indicated in the general information and instructions for the Application for a Certificate or Copy of an Act.
